Armed with a laser
Fri, 28 Mar 2025
The answer to last week's(!) blog entry is now clear: nope, won't get to the bunnies this (now last) weekend.
The point of Bunny Lop was to make a design to show off all the cute novelty cottons I had accumulated, which is great as long as I can remember where I put my (enormous!) stash of novelty cottons. We've been reorganizing the basement into those ubiquitous black-and-yellow storage totes, which is great until you have a basement full of partially-loaded totes that you don't want to label until they're all properly sorted. I'm now confident that the cottons are in a labeled tote... in the shed. Whoops. And now it's time to run the tier reward, so the bunnies are back-burnered for a few days.
Anyway. That laser.
I have, since the beginning of the pandemic, been wanting to go play with the library system's laser, and I am finally almost there. Today I got the orientation on the 3D printer, which it turns out occupies the same room, and if I get the goose bunnies done and bonus kid gets their college project done, we'll get the makerspace guy to give us the laser lesson. A funny thing about the last time I mentioned the laser: turns out the adjacent room is in fact a recording booth. Maybe I will finally get to do the videos and voiceovers.
Of course, this is all dependent on whether the library continues to get funding - the unelected billionaire running the country says no. If you don't know who I'm talking about, I beg you: keep up on the news, it's very important right now.
