If you follow me via RSS you'll have seen some formatting issues in the feed, so here's the story: Buttondown has a RSS-to-email function so I figured I'd set up a weekly blog digest. The problem is: it's not picking up the entries. So I've been shuffling the formatting around, trying to get it to pick up the text without making feed readers pick up only the summary or anything.
RSS is a long-standing format and, like email, has accumulated a lot of different valid ways to do things. I always check the validity of the feed structure, but technically-correct does not necessarily mean it's going to display properly.
So I'll be posting this entry early, and bumping its date forward as I try different things. If it takes more than a couple tries I'll give up and set up a test-only feed, but in the meantime you might see this post popping up in your feed more than once - I apologize in advance.
Update: Turns out I managed to not save the actual template where it fills in the blog entries. Fixed, so this Friday's blog-by-mail subscribers should get this week's three entries. The subscribers to the two monthly newsletters will get their newsletters on Friday as well. Those show up on the archives linked in the newsletter page, and this month's test newsletters have been appearing there as drafts (so you get to see my editing process!)
