I got a good start this summer on making new Halloween designs and updating older ones, and then sort of stalled out. I'm seriously wondering whether I have the right temperament for this kind of self-employment. Throwing patterns out into the void is the only way I get any feedback and it's not great for incentivizing my ADHD brain.
Anyway, I rejiggered the Jumping Spider to have a one-piece option like the Hawk Moth and Rosy Maple Moth but hadn't gotten around to taking pictures of the process, so that's what I'm up to. It's been a year-round favorite so I guess it's not terrible that I've missed the holiday sales.
The price goes up when I improve a design like this, and you can download the new version when it comes out, so if you want it for Halloween there's no reason to wait on me. The two-part version is just fine, especially if you'd rather hand-sew them together than align them on the machine. The extant version has only the applique jaws, and I've improved some of the embroidery and what, but even the older version has held up well so I'm not putting it in the vault for now.
Picking up more armature wire also meant noticing that the colorful chenille bumps were back in stock, so expect more Chenille Ornament pictures.
Ohhhhhhhhhh I just realized they'll make great alternate legs for the Spider, so expect that too.
