I can't believe I'm losing a battle with French fries.

The simplified version of the 3D Kawaii Fries was supposed to be a fairly easy conversion - a lot of tedious satin arrangement, to be sure, but not any real challenges to overcome. Something went wrong somewhere, and the satins are not meeting nor are they covering the edges of the applique.

Usually that's a rookie mistake, either in digitization or execution: inadequate stabilization, inadequate pull compensation, things like that. I don't think that's the case, but it wouldn't be the first time I've overlooked something obvious. But it's happened on both vinyl and minky, so it shouldn't be stabilization, and I think the on-screen overlap amount looks normal. Though I have to admit, I usually don't look too closely: I just use the usual settings and the stitchouts look fine. I'm using a dev release of Ink/Stitch though, with some new satin changes, so maybe that's it.

In any case, it's already the 10th of the month so I'm going to set that aside and go with the Sakura. Even if there are some slight inaccuracies with satin width, that won't matter for that design, and it's more seasonal anyway. The next fries test is queued up on the machine as well, so if that works too I'm ahead of the game.
