We were scheduled to be home yesterday. Checked out of the hotel, returned the rental car, went through security, got to the gate... and our plane was sitting there with a cracked windshield.

They did not approve of a former employer's informal motto: "It flew in, it'll fly out." (It was a cargo airline, they only crashed two planes. Or at least only two with fatalities.)

So we flew out this morning at early-o'clock, got home in the afternoon and slept. I'll probably remember how the embroidery machine works in the next day or so.
