A picture of a decrepit JoAnn Fabric store

Friday the 13th

I had a nice optimistic post pre-written and just waiting for the pictures of the Indicolite Dragon and... it's not done. It's so close! I just need to finish its eyes and then sew the head on. But the eyes are so very, very tiny. I should have machine-embroidered the whites, I'd be done by now, but I didn't. So I need to print out a template, then cut out some ultrasuede, then bond the incredibly tiny gems (2.7mm!) to it, then stitch them on. Oh, and I gotta figure out how to connect to the printer, or else I'm printing to the label printer (which might not be a bad idea now that I think about it).

So instead today I have (1) listed some dragon plushies, (2) drafted a new dragon head, and (3) drafted new dragon wings. It's been absurdly cold here again all of a sudden, so I probably won't spend much time in the basement (the hand-sewing all happens upstairs these days) but next week I'll see about the Shield and this new as-yet-unnamed dragon.

Maybe I'll make an ice-themed one. 🥶

The Sad JoAnn has become my go-to image for when things aren't going as well as they should. (It's the store that would have been closest to me if they hadn't moved about the same time I did. They replaced it with what was at least at the time the largest store in the state. 😌)
