I know I've been complaining about social media a lot lately, but there's some good news sometimes.

If you've followed my blog for any length of time, you know the current incarnation of Silver Seams basically happened because of Mastodon, a Twitter replacement

I joined in 2017. When it blew up, I jumped ship for Bluesky in November 2023. Didn't have much hope for it, but then the new owner started trashing Twitter and

Bluesky is really taking off.

I run a couple of Feeds there (the curated timelines that supplement your following timeline) including one of machine embroiderers, one of plushie makers, and a

great big firehose of all sorts of crafts that is a delight to scroll through the images on.

If you hit up the Silver Seams profile, there are the usual tabs of me posting things but there are also

"Feeds" and "Starter Packs." I recommend picking the starter pack(s) because that will directly follow folks, some of whom will follow you back, and there you

go.

_If you're a Twitter user, there are extensions like Sky Follower Bridge that will help you reconnect on Bluesky. Can't tell you how well it works since I don't

have mutuals on Twitter to test it with._

Anyway, it's been a fun place to dump work-in-progress pictures and things, and I have some hope it helps get a little publicity for the business too.
