Stay spooky
Wed, 17 Jul 2024
Clearly, my machine was just haunted this weekend, because it doesn't look like Ink/Stitch has been goofing up threadlists at all. I bounced around to a few releases, and the problem didn't go away (even on ones that used to work) so I decided something had happened to my custom palette.
Ink/Stitch comes with a bunch of different thread brand pre-sets, and I have picked from them to build a palette that reflects my specific collection of threads - mostly Sulky, some Madeira, and the original Brothread I learned on. That's why you'll see "Silver Seams" or sometimes "Silver Seams Only" in the thread color. It's almost always exclusively Sulky, plus the placeholder colors, but since I am not really doing designs that require exact colors you can mostly ignore it.
Anyway, the broken palette seemed weird since I hadn't touched the file, but I decided I'd have to pull a good copy from the repo, and in the meantime just ignored it.
... and then I noticed it was working again.
I have no idea what was going on. Something, a stray file lock or something, was interfering and now it's not. I have concluded that the current run of spooky-season designs has resulted in my machine being lightly haunted. Anyway, the Ghost Emoji is done, and it should have proper color names. If not, I think you can probably figure out "black, red, and white."
