It's been awhile since I did a Follow Friday, but I've been complaining about the state of discoverability and, well, that's still one old reliable way to keep up on things. RSS/Atom feeds and a feed reader has been my go-to for decades. Here's a few more things to follow that way:
I've switched from Mastodon/fediverse to Bluesky, though I'm pessimistic about microblogging in general as a way to build a business. But I'm in the habit of dumping tiny thoughts someplace, so that's where I do it these days. Unlike Twitter/X, but like fedi, Bluesky has feeds for user accounts so you can just subscribe to me if you're not interested in joining. Though if you do join, I also maintain a list of Plushie Artists and Machine Embroiderers, which as far as I know don't have RSS feeds, despite being named "Feeds". (Hmm, maybe I could do an aggregated feed though...)
Via Bsky, I've found that Folly Lolly/Lazy Lamb has a blog for plush makers, so give that a follow.
The Indie Sellers Guild has a blog. They're the folks behind the Etsy Strike, and they've been working on alternatives. I admit I haven't kept up on all their stuff (which involves too many video and audio things for my ADHD brain) but they seem to be doing good work.
Tags and categories are currently undergoing a re-org, so here's a manual listing of the best previous Follow Friday posts.
Following Etsy shops - as Etsy declines in relevance, it's more a reminder that you should check any shops for feeds.
How to be followable - I guess I should update this entry. Poppi's no longer with us, nor is my fedi info current there. It's still valid advice though.
Pixelfed vs. Instagram - Oh hey, I might still have a Pixelfed account. I don't update it though. Might have to reconsider that.
