I continue to see a lot of creators talking about how bad social media is lately, and someone linked this article and graph and... whoof.
I left Twitter in late 2016, so that one hasn't impacted me as much, but I also left Mastodon last year for Bluesky, and haven't really found traction there yet so I am without a place to easily drop quick updates. Instagram was where it was at for me for awhile, but that's settled down to just a good place to keep in touch with existing customers and other artists, and Facebook Groups are the place now, though I've mentioned the issues there already.
I had been contemplating TikTok, purely because I need to take some how-to videos anyway and I might as well post snippets there, but I suspect I can't count on that for anything much, especially with the weird Congressional stuff happening there.
I have a Threads account, and that article makes a lot of noise about Threads downloads but then... doesn't say anything about actual Threads traffic? Granted it's too new to have too much in the way of +/- graphing, but I can't help but wonder if that article isn't kind of in the pocket of Big Facebook.
I guess I should give it a shot. Follow me there?
