Cropping with Ink/Stitch
Fri, 02 Feb 2024
Urban Threads just dropped some pretty neat coasters made by cropping some of their existing dragon designs down and I saw them and immediately went "but they're missing some of my favorite designs!" and then almost as immediately went "but I guess I could crop them myself."
And then I used a chicken for the tutorial, for reasons I don't really know.
It opens up some real possibilities, though - trimming designs so they fit on mini-composition book covers, and in other oddball shapes. You can't easily resize existing stitch files (it's why I include the source in my designs, but I'm the only designer I know who does) but cropping them is a whole different ballgame.
In any event, the draft tutorial is available to my Kofi and Patreon supporters right now, and will turn up in the tutorials section here in March.
