The star babies have... dropped? fallen? Something, I guess.
I usually like to give some previews, maybe get some feedback about which design is going to be the monthly reward, but this month nothing was really coming together. I wanted something that was Christmas-appropriate but, because I'm late for the "three months ahead" for seasonal stuff, not Christmas-specific.
And then I remembered the star babies. They've been bouncing around in my head since I went looking for wool felt and saw a bunch of Waldorf ones. Mine are a little simplified in the face area, but to make up for that there's a version with a dimensional backside so they sit upright(ish).
Aside from the separate hooping for the back, all the variants are in a single file: at the end you decide whether you're going to do the top-stitching (for a felt/vinyl ornament-type), the flat stitching with a turning opening (for the plush charm type), or the step-by-step that aligns the dimensional back.
The faces have an applique option, a fill-stitch option, or a gingerbread-icing option. And I'll probably drop a Super Star (Mario) free add-on shortly, because it needs done but I didn't want to put someone else's IP in the design itself.
Now I need to get cracking on the next design, because I'm moving up the monthly rewards to both fall on the second Friday, instead of second and fourth. By the three-month rule, if it's seasonal it should be a February-appropriate design. Maybe another hugger, a la the bat plushie?
