Alexander Mason, Slug
Alexander Mason: a slug plushie, made with squishy foiled plush leopard fabric.
Alexander Mason, Slug
Alexander Mason is a slug. He's neither a banana slug (though he's shaped like one) nor a leopard slug (though he's kind of the color of one). He is a one-of-a-kind art doll slug, inspired by the Skype A Scientist 2026 Snail Facts Calendar.
He is made of foiled mochi fabric - much the same as what a Squishmallow is made from. I've used "squish" stuffing as well; while too much handling will dull the shine of his spots, he is satisfying to squeeze.
His eyes are double-drilled glass beads; the second pair of holes lets the thread show to make a surprisingly realistic pupil. He's over twelve inches long as the crow flies.
Purchasing this critter works a little differently than my usual collectibles: I am not selling him, but giving him away to someone who makes a donation to Skype a Scientist. Donate enough to match at least four classrooms (or more! it's a good cause!) and let me know you've done so and where to mail your slug, and he's yours.
The usual disclaimer: Despite its toy-like appearance, this is an adult collectible with small parts that could pose a choking hazard. Made in a smoke-free but cat-occupied home from an original Silver Seams pattern. The props are just for scale and not included in this listing. The cat hair is also not included but will probably be sent to you despite my best efforts. You are buying one (rather large) slug.
