This tiny plush dragon art doll is another aquatic variety. This tropical freshwater dragon’s design was inspired by Siamese fighting fish; I may have gone a little over the top.
It is made from high-sheen upholstery velvet from a pattern I created myself. Its eyes are 10mm glass cabochons in pale lavender. It is assembled with a laborious combination of hand- and machine-sewing, and stands on its own with no props. The wings are partially wired; it is not posable.
The velvet is a bold purple – the holy grail of many betta breeders – with a glossy sheen, shifting to a silvery lavender depending on your viewing angle. The topstitching is a brilliant red, echoing the accent colors of many “fighting fish.”
This dragon is about five inches tall to the top of its head not including its crest. The wingspan is almost nine inches.
This is a one-of-a-kind creation – I will never make another one like it. Don’t miss out!
If you’d like to see all the OOAK dragons (including what’s coming up next), there’s a catalog of them.
This is an adult collectible art doll with small parts that could pose a choking hazard. Made in a smoke-free but cat-occupied home from an original Silver Seams pattern.
