This tiny plush dragon is just a little over four inches tall to the tip of its headknobs, with a wingspan around six inches. While working on one of my larger dragons (who makes a guest appearance in the last picture), I was inspired to try a variation on my usual minky dragons and used a contrast fabric on the wing undersides and belly. So this little dragon has a surprise: whale-patterned fabric underneath. There are all manner of cetaceans represented, from orcas on up.
It is made from Shannon Cuddle 3 minky fabric and quilting cotton, from a pattern I created myself. Its eyes are pressed glass beads with a changeable iridescent (“aurora borealis”) appearance, and its nostrils are iridescent glass Delica beads. It is assembled with a combination of hand- and machine-sewing, and stands on its own with no wires or props.
Its wings have embroidered “fingers” on the upper surface. The lower surface (along with the belly/inner legs) is the patterned quilting cotton. The wings are unwired but will hold their position to a limited degree.
Despite its toy-like appearance, this is an adult collectible with small parts that could pose a choking hazard. Made in a smoke-free but cat-occupied home from an original Silver Seams pattern. The book and seltzer can are just for scale and not included in this listing. Any cat hair is also not included but will probably be sent to you despite my best efforts.
